Official EAFOL16 blogger Asma Merchant enjoys the variety of the Festival and meets her favourite author Asma Hilal Lootah, Joe Wicks and David Allen I love the buzz at the festival and especially seeing so many book lovers in one place all getting to see their favourite authors or, indeed, finding their new favourites! I had such a varied day at the Festival on Friday. Starting with The Body Coach, Joe Wicks, who is a social media sensation, to Jacqueline Wilson, who had a full house filled with children to listen to her talk about her books set in the Victorian era. I love that the Festival has roped in Novo Cinemas as an additional venue which is where these two sessions were held. Hopped on to a bus and got back to the InterContinental Hotel, Event Centre to see Anthony Horowitz talk about his new Bond book, Trigger Mortis. He has a huge children fan following too, for his Alex Rider series. From the individual talks to the panel discussions. I attended three on various topics from getting your book published to fitting it all in to the antihero. A wide variety of authors and experiences. Met my favourite author and went ballistic. David Allen, the writer of the Getting Things Done books, is here for the festival and I am a huge fan of his work. That's what I love about the Festival. It brings readers close to their inspiration.
