Anthony Horowitz At The Emirates LitFest: What's His Session Like?

By: Jasper Pine-Coffin

Read and find out!

I strongly advise everyone to go to hear Anthony Horowitz speak if you ever get the chance, so you get to experience the fun and enjoy meeting the author of your favourite books.

Anthony Horowitz is an author who writes bestselling books about Alex Rider, a 14-year-old boy who secretly works undercover as an agent for MI6, the British intelligence agency.

Anthony Horowitz likes to put a lot of humour into his books and is generally is a very funny person. He made a lot of jokes that were always hilarious and had the audience in fits.

The part I found funniest was a story about his strict school, which he had to go to but absolutely hated. It was a terrible school where teachers would beat kids with a cane. And the absolutely funniest part when talking about the school was a story about how as an adult, he heard the headmaster was very seriously ill. He travelled across London, and went all the way up to the fourth floor of the hospital just to make sure that the strict headmaster was really going to die after all. It was so unexpected the whole room laughed.

Everybody who was at the session at the recent Emirates LitFest brought books to be signed and seemed completely focused and engaged in the session, with eyes glued to the author on the stage.

I strongly advise everyone to go to hear Anthony Horowitz speak if you ever get the chance, so you get to experience the fun and enjoy meeting the author of your favourite books.
